CHRISTMAS 2020 UPDATE

We are not permitted to celebrate public mass in our parish church on either Christmas, Feast of the Holy Family or New Year’s Day this year. I encourage you to view our LIVESTREAM MASS: CHRISTMAS EVE AT 3 P.M.(Choir: Esteban and team) AND 4.00 P.M. (Choir; Esteban and team), CHRISTMAS DAY AT 12.00 NOON. For those who wish to attend the mass on a later time, the link of the 3.00 P.M. & 4.00 P.M. Masses will be available through our Parish Website; www.stmartinoftourschurch.ca (Click the Register for Communion service link to register for the Communion Services on December 24th and 25th).

Christmas Carols will be sung after each mass, and at communion time we invite you to join in the following prayer:

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

While the dispensation from the obligation to attend mass continues to be in effect, Cardinal Collins has asked that each parish celebrate Holy Communion Services for our parishioners on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

1. Each service takes approximately 10 minutes and will be led by a priest or deacon for only 8 parishioners (plus presider and usher for a maximum of 10 people allowed in the church).

2. Every 30 minutes, 24 communicants will be receiving Eucharist through a 10minute interval. This is to allow the next batch of 8 waiting outside to come in and receive communion.

3. Please note that those in attendance must be willing to stand, appropriately distanced in the front of the altar and will be asked to leave immediately following the final blessing. Please be on time.

4. There will be a list of the registered individuals and a volunteer on the outside to help facilitate the Communion Service.
